The Microtaper shafts were manufactured by Brunswick which is no longer manufacturing golf shafts. Years ago MacGregor actually used a shaft called the Propel which had 1" steps and was a standard weight steel shaft in the mid 120 gram weight range. True Temper manufactured a version of this shaft under the Jet Step name.

I would agree with the suggestion of the FST 90 shaft however the MacGregor's could possibly be a .355" taper tip. If that is the case I would look at the Dynalite Gold SL or the new GS-95.
